GTE Engineering specializes in Audi R8 engine, clutch and shifting systems. Our independent workshop provides maintenance, diagnostics and repair, with the work matched to the vehicle’s V8 or V10 engine, transmission type and service history. We also handle applicable removed-component rebuilding requests for owners and installing workshops. Confirm capability and availability for the exact vehicle and proposed work before booking.
R tronic, manual and S tronic
The Audi R8’s transmission type determines the service path. R tronic is an automated manual arrangement on applicable earlier cars; S tronic is a dual-clutch system. A dry-clutch R tronic rebuild must not be ordered as if it were a universal S tronic clutch kit.
GTE’s catalog includes applicable R8 clutch rebuilding and selected hydraulic power-unit, actuator and release-system components. Identify V8 or V10 configuration, gearbox, installed clutch/flywheel and engine modifications before requesting a rebuild. High-output cars require a torque-capacity review.
Engine, clutch and shifting-system specialists
From engine running concerns and mechanical repairs to clutch wear and gear-selection faults, GTE assesses the systems together to identify the required work. For R tronic applications, this includes the relationship between clutch operation, hydraulic pressure, the shift actuator and electrical feedback. Manual and S tronic cars follow their own diagnostic and repair procedures.

Workshop services
- Diagnostics: assess electrical, hydraulic and mechanical evidence before defining a repair.
- Maintenance: plan fluid, filter, leak, timing and wear-related work for the vehicle’s specification and history.
- Clutch and drivetrain: assess the installed system and available repair, rebuild or replacement options.
- Brakes, suspension and steering: inspect reported concerns and agree the required work.
- Electrical and climate systems: investigate faults within the supported application and agreed scope.
- Restoration or upgrades: discuss feasibility, parts and project requirements separately.
Vehicle diagnosis and component rebuilding
Workshop diagnosis evaluates the complete vehicle. A send-in service examines the removed assembly within its agreed scope. Component test results cannot establish the condition of every vehicle-side circuit, cooler, harness, clutch or installation. If another workshop removes and installs the part, it remains responsible for its vehicle checks and commissioning.
