Steering Rack Rebuild: Preparing and Returning the Assembly
Before removal
Record the steering concern and the diagnostic findings. Photograph the installed arrangement where useful for reassembly, and identify the rack reference. Keep the vehicle's configuration with the service inquiry.
Confirm shipment contents
Ask which attached components should remain with the rack. Follow the applicable preparation and packaging instructions, protect vulnerable connections and include the required paperwork. Do not send unrelated items unless requested for the job.
Review the findings
Inspection can identify damage or additional requirements that were not visible externally. Confirm the proposed work and any replacement components in the quotation. A rack rebuild does not include vehicle-level alignment or other installation work unless explicitly stated.
After return
The installing workshop should follow the correct fitting and setup procedures, check the surrounding components and verify operation. Retain the service record and installation findings for future reference.
