GTE Engineering replaces the pump motor and slave cylinder, rebuilds the gear-position sensor strip, renews the seals and tests the solenoid valves. What the Rebuild Includes

Assessment and additional work: Work beyond the listed rebuild scope is quoted for approval. A functioning original clutch slave solenoid may be reused following assessment by the installer; replacement is not included in this service.

How the Send-In Service Works

1. Verify your part before shipping. Send component-label photographs, stored fault codes and symptoms through our quote request form. Confirm which hydraulic and slave-cylinder components should accompany the unit.
2. Ship your original assembly. Follow our shipping instructions and include your order information.
3. Assessment and rebuilding. GTE assesses the submitted components, confirms any additional work requiring approval, and completes the agreed rebuild and solenoid testing.
4. Professional installation. Your installer follows BMW procedures for installation, hydraulic bleeding, applicable adaptations and vehicle checks.

Technical Questions

Is this an exchange unit or a rebuild of my own assembly?

This is a send-in rebuild service. Ship your original unit to GTE Engineering; we rebuild and return it. No core charge applies.

Does the new slave cylinder include a new clutch slave solenoid?

No. The new slave cylinder is included, but the separate clutch slave solenoid is excluded. Your installer should assess the original solenoid before reuse. Contact GTE if it is faulty or missing so any additional work can be quoted.

Is the gear-position sensor strip replaced or rebuilt?

The existing gear-position sensor strip is rebuilt and fitted with a new connector, as listed in the service scope.

Will rebuilding the hydraulic unit resolve every SMG fault?

SMG warnings and shifting faults require diagnosis. The installer should check electrical supply, relay operation, wiring, hydraulic leaks and stored faults, together with clutch condition and the applicable adaptations. Repairs outside the submitted assembly may be required.

What warranty applies?

Under GTE's published policy, hydraulic-unit rebuilds carry a 90-day limited warranty covering workmanship and rebuild-related materials, subject to the installation requirements, conditions and exclusions in our Warranty and Rebuild Coverage.
