Ferrari F430 Manual Conversion: Planning and Documentation

Ferrari F430 Manual Conversion: Planning and Documentation

Define the conversion

An F430 conversion changes the vehicle's installed control configuration. It should be documented as a conversion, including the parts and electronic changes made. It does not make the car an original factory-manual example, and no increase in resale value should be assumed.

Coordinate mechanical and electronic work

A conversion plan must account for the mechanical controls, clutch operation and the electronic configuration required for the vehicle. Purchasing one kit does not establish that every required component or programming operation is included. Review the scope with the installing workshop before work begins.

Inspect before modifying

Assess the condition of the existing clutch, transmission and supporting systems. A conversion should not conceal an unresolved fault or substitute for maintenance. The installation should be checked as a complete system using appropriate workshop procedures.

Keep the records

Retain invoices, part references, configuration details and setup records for future maintenance and any subsequent sale. Contact GTE Engineering to discuss the proposed work and applicable service availability.
