The Ferrari 599 was the first full production Ferrari to come fitted with the F140 engine, often referred to as "the Enzo Engine". Pairing this engine with a full manual gearbox makes for a truly special experience. Unfortunately, when Ferrari offered this, the ECU calibration was never finished, and as a result, the factory manual cars are known to be troublesome during gear changes, with the revs dropping so quickly that most people find them quite hard to drive. It was quite clear back then that Ferrari was determined to steer buyers towards the F1 gearbox option.
