PEGA Clutch Rebuilding & Performance Stages

PEGA Clutch is GTE Engineering’s clutch rebuilding and friction-lining brand. Applicable customer-supplied clutch assemblies are assessed for rebuilding with a friction configuration matched to the vehicle and intended use. Choose the correct clutch assembly first, then select from the stages available for that application.

Compare PEGA Stages 1–5

Stage Friction configuration Use and engagement priority
1 Full FX4C-SC organic Comfort-focused road use; the smoothest category in PEGA’s stage guide.
2 FX4C-SC organic + BFXX ceramic Sport-oriented use, particularly applicable gated manuals; firmer engagement.
3 Full FXSS-SC Kevlar® Performance-oriented option for applicable F1/E-Gear and manual configurations.
4 FXSS-SC Kevlar® + BFXX ceramic Greater performance emphasis with less priority on low-speed comfort; application review required.
5 Full BFXX ceramic Racing-focused configuration; the harshest engagement category, including selected high-output builds.

Stage availability varies by clutch. A higher number is not automatically the best choice for a road car or automated clutch system. Review the specific listing and discuss comfort, traffic use, track duty and modifications before ordering.

Power, torque and stage selection

A clutch transfers engine power; fitting a higher stage does not add engine horsepower. Capacity depends on the complete assembly’s geometry, friction interfaces, clamp load, condition and temperature. There is no universal HP or Nm limit for each stage across every vehicle. Tell GTE the measured or expected torque, engine modifications and whether figures are at the engine or wheels.

What rebuilding covers

The received clutch is evaluated for serviceability. Cleaning, inspection, friction-lining work, reconditioning, assembly and checks follow the selected listing and approved estimate. A damaged cover, diaphragm, intermediate plate, disc carrier or flywheel may require additional parts or a different repair decision. Do not assume every metal component is replaced with new.

Related work to consider

  • Flywheel service: condition, dimensions and the permitted service method must suit the assembly.
  • Balancing: individual-component or matched-assembly work follows the chosen service options.
  • Release system: bearing/slave cylinder, position feedback and hydraulic condition need their own inspection.
  • Installation and calibration: correct release travel, bleeding, clutch learning and bedding-in are essential for applicable systems.

Find the correct application

Use the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Audi R8 and Alfa Romeo guides below, or browse the PEGA collection for Maserati and other listed applications. Match part numbers, transmission type and any previous conversion. A dry-clutch PEGA lining stage is not a specification for every wet DCT clutch pack sold in the shop.

Common questions

Which stage feels closest to an ordinary road clutch?

Stage 1 is the comfort-focused category. Actual feel also depends on the assembly and vehicle setup.

Is Stage 5 suitable for regular traffic?

It prioritizes racing use and can have harsh engagement. Discuss the actual use before choosing it.

Does the price include a flywheel or release bearing?

Only when expressly specified. Follow the selected options and estimate.
