Ferrari F355 F1 hydraulic system rebuilt by GTE Engineering, showing actuator, power unit, accumulator and hose set

Preserving the Ferrari F355 F1: A Complete Hydraulic System Rebuild

Preserving a Ferrari F355 F1 starts with understanding the complete shifting system. GTE Engineering’s F1-HL rebuild service brings the hydraulic actuator, power unit and hose set into one coordinated job, with a clearly defined scope for the customer and installing workshop.

A complete assembly, not an isolated component

The actuator, hydraulic supply and connecting hoses work together. Sending the complete system gives the rebuilder access to the assembly as supplied, including its hose routing and fittings. For this service, GTE requires the existing hoses along with the actuator and power unit. Contact GTE before shipping to agree the shipment contents, packing arrangements and current receiving address.

What GTE rebuilds and replaces

The service includes actuator and hydraulic power-unit rebuilding, a complete new hose set, a new accumulator, a brand-new electric pump motor, replacement of the seals within the serviced units, cleaning and component refurbishment. This is a send-in rebuild of the customer’s hydraulic system; mechanical gearbox and friction-clutch rebuilding are separate services.

Tested components and additional parts

The existing potentiometers are tested, but their rebuilding or replacement is not included. Electrovalves are also tested. If an electrovalve requires replacement, GTE informs the customer of the additional parts cost for approval. Electrovalve replacement carried out within this complete system rebuild does not incur additional labor.

Keep the part references with the job

The current service listing identifies system-kit reference 175834, hydraulic actuator 177687 and hydraulic power unit 177686. These are identification references for the assemblies, not a claim that the rebuilt system is a new Ferrari OEM kit. The sender or qualified installer must verify the installed parts and compatibility; GTE does not provide VIN-to-part checks or fitment confirmations.

Plan for the original electronics

GTE recommends discussing an upgraded TCU because replacement units for the F355 F1 can be difficult to source. The TCU is optional and separate from the hydraulic rebuild. Ask about current availability and pricing before making installation arrangements, and have the installing workshop establish the applicable setup requirements.

Before the system leaves your workshop

Record the symptoms and available diagnostic findings, identify the supplied assemblies and retain photographs of the installation. Follow GTE’s shipping instructions and keep the rebuild documentation with the vehicle. Use the product page for current pricing and the full service terms.
